The faces of ECHN

Our employees come from all walks of life but what connects everyone is a sense of pride for helping others, and the place they get to do what they love everyday.

Every nursing job is challenging, and requires hard work and dedication, no matter what field of nursing you choose. Working as a hospice nurse has given me the opportunity to make a profound difference in patients and families lives, that in itself brings me so much satisfaction. ECHN has afforded me the support, flexibility, and tools to ensure I can use my skills, know-how and compassion to my fullest to be the best nurse I can be!

Lisa Albert

Registered Nurse Case Manager
My time with ECHN began as a graduate intern. Since then, I progressed from a part-time unlicensed employee to the full-time licensed employee that I am now. My most significant career achievements have been obtained during my time here and my favorite project is working on a trauma presentation amongst first responders. This is particularly interesting to me due to my past experience working as a first responder in various capacities and my undergraduate education in Criminology.

Clinician III/Adult Ambulatory Behavioral Health
Having been promoted to Chemistry Supervisor has contributed to my growth here at ECHN. My staff motivates me and I have the best manager/assistant director. Working at the hospital is great because of how welcome everyone makes me feel, and managers and executive management take the time to recognize hard work. I love waking up and coming to work every day; it feels like family here. When I’m not working, you can find me in the kitchen. I love cooking and baking and I always bake for my co-workers.

Nursing Jobs

If you are looking for a nursing career at a community hospital with opportunities for advancement, consider Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN). Our network of hospitals, as part of Prospect Medical, includes 20 hospitals in six states, with two of these hospitals located here in Connecticut. Manchester Memorial Hospital and Rockville General Hospital both provide our nurses with job, location and career flexibility.

Graduate Nursing Opportunities

Although ECHN does not have a graduate nurse program, we encourage recent graduate nurses to apply to open registered nurse positions. A graduate nurse can apply for any open registered nurse position as long as they have proof of transcript or letter from an accredited school of nursing.

ECHN is happy to offer short-term opportunities to observe the care and services provided at ECHN for the purposes of, but not limited to, career exploration, degree requirements, recruiting or for educational purposes. Observations are a completely hands-off experience and require the supervision of an ECHN staff member or physician at all times.

Volunteering Opportunities

Dedicated volunteers give thousands of hours of service to ECHN. Volunteers must have the desire to assist patients, their families and our community. Excellent customer service skills, compassion, maturity, empathy, objectivity, tact and the ability to maintain confidentiality are required.
