Dr. William Leach obtained his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean SOM, where he was involved in international global health initiatives in southern Vietnam and studied Infectious/Tropical diseases and Pulmonology.
He then began an internship at NYU-Suffolk at Long Island Community Hospital during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and completed a residency in Internal Medicine. He continued his training at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA, and became a Chief Fellow in the Infectious Disease program.
His medical interests include quality improvement in patient sampling and pulmonary infections in the immunocompromised host.
Dr. William Leach is joining ECHN Medical Group as an Infectious Disease specialist. He returns to Eastern Connecticut after about 10 years, and to the hospital where he was born 41 years earlier.
