Prepared Childbirth Education – Weekend & Wednesdays
Includes the following four classes:
1. Weekend Childbirth Education – No-Frills Option
Friday 4/3/20 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm and Saturday 4/4/20 from 10:00 – 3:00 pm. Designed for expectant parents with tight schedules. This two-session series of classes includes the vital components to prepare you for labor and birth.
2. Breastfeeding for the Pregnant Couple – Wednesday 4/8/20 from 6:00 – 8:30 pm. This class explains the advantages of nursing, breastfeeding techniques and positions, breast milk expression and storage, ways to prevent common problems, handling the first few weeks at home and more. Fathers and support persons are encouraged to attend. Taught by our Certified Lactation Consultants. Breastfeeding book provided with class.
3. Baby Care Class – Wednesday 4/15/20 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm For expectant parents who wish that babies came with an owner’s manual, this class covers diapering, bathing, crying, safety and many other details of newborn care. Hands on instruction will ease you through the first days and nights at home with baby.
4. Advanced Comfort Skills for Labor + Tour (optional tour at 6:00 pm) – Wednesday 4/22/20 from 7:00 – 8:30 pm This is an interactive class specifically designed for couples who have taken a childbirth series or have had a baby before. The class gives couples a hands-on opportunity to get more in-depth information on comfort & coping skills for labor. In this class we will practice labor coping skills such as; relaxation, utilizing different positions, breathing, touch and other advanced skills. An optional tour of the Family Birthing Center will precede the class.
