RGH Auxiliary Awards Scholarships to Four Local Students

MANCHESTER, CONNECTICUT – The Rockville General Hospital Auxiliary awarded four outstanding high school graduates with the Mercedes Hawley Scholarship for 2012. Each recipient was presented with a scholarship toward their degrees in a healthcare-related field. This year’s recipients are: Nicolette Pennington (East Catholic High School), Katelyn Rizner (Rockville High School), Kelly Walker (Rockville High School), and Elizabeth Ta (Rockville High School).
The Mercedes Hawley Scholarship was named after a very active member of the RGH Auxiliary, who was killed in an automobile accident. Mercedes Hawley was a former President of the Auxiliary and Scholarship Chairperson.
