The Rockville General Hospital Auxiliary has planned a trip to Westchester Broadway Theatre, Elmsford, New York, to see the hit musical Mary Poppins on Wednesday, May 28. The bus will depart from the Ladd and Hall parking lot in downtown Rockville at 8 a.m. and will return at 6 p.m. The theatre offers dining and top-notch musical talent.
The Westchester Broadway Theatre describes the magical and delightful musical as:
One of the most popular Disney movies of all time is capturing hearts in a whole new way: as a hit musical! Mary Poppins is the story of a mysterious nanny who magically appears at the Banks household in Edwardian London to care for Jane and Michael Banks. Adventure abounds as she then whisks them away to meet chimney sweeps, shopkeepers and more. It features an irresistible story, breathtaking dance numbers and beloved songs such as "Chim Chim Cher-ee," "A Spoonful of Sugar" and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious." The New York Post calls it "a perfect piece of musical theater.” It received seven Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical, winning for Best Scenic Design.
The cost of the trip is $95 per person (non-refundable) and includes transportation, a choice of six entrées, dessert, and gratuity. Please make checks payable to Rockville General Hospital Auxiliary and mail it to the Auxiliary c/o Rockville General Hospital, 31 Union Street, Rockville, CT 06066.
