Rockville General Hospital is an acute-care community hospital located in Vernon, approximately 15 minutes northeast of Hartford. The hospital first opened in 1921 as Rockville City Hospital on Prospect Street. It later was relocated to Union Street after hospital trustees purchased the Maxwell Mansion. Together with hundreds of staff, community physicians and advanced medical practitioners, the hospital provides comprehensive, high-quality, family-focused care.

Since opening its doors in 1921, Rockville General Hospital has been your hospital – part of the fabric of the village of Rockville and integral to the health and well-being of the community. Through the years it has adapted, often transforming itself to serve the community in new and different ways. From cardiac emergencies and strokes to broken bones and sudden illness, the emergency departments at Rockville General Hospital is staffed to treat the needs of the community with emergent and urgent injuries or illnesses.

Visiting Hours
The health and safety of our patients, staff and visitors is our top priority and we value the healing quality of patient visitation. To support both safety precautions and visitor allowances, visiting hours are 10 a.m.  – 8 p.m. daily.

Parking and Valet Services

Parking
Free parking for visitors and patients is located off Union Street. The circular driveway located in this area can be utilized to drop off patients. Street parking is also available, as indicated by signs around the hospital campus.

Valet Services
Free valet parking services are available Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Patient Information

If you are visiting Rockville General Hospital for a test or procedure, you are required to pre-register. Our easy access pre-registration services will answer all of your questions about your upcoming stay. For more information, please call our pre-registration line at 860.872.5150.

No Surprises Act
As of January 1, 2022, the No Surprise Act bans out-of-network providers and facilities from sending consumers bills for amounts beyond in-network costs and standard fees like deductibles and co-pays.
