The Family Birthing Center at Manchester Memorial Hospital offers new parents personal, family-centered care in a beautiful, safe, home-like environment.
We know that every birth is unique and every baby is special. So we are committed to doing all we can to make the birth of your child a joyful, memorable and medically secure experience.
We offer you as many choices and as much flexibility as possible in your care, including special services such as water births. Our experienced, caring staff explains and respects your options before, during and after the birth of your child.
Special Features of The Family Birthing Center
Some of the many special features of The Family Birthing Center include:
We also are proud of our commitment to continuity of care. Once you go into active labor, you will have the same nurse with you until you deliver.
Keep in mind that in order to deliver your baby at The Family Birthing Center, your obstetrician or midwife must be a member of the ECHN medical staff. Meet the obstetricians and nurse midwives on our medical staff.
The New Mothers Program is a unique program that invites women to bring their new babies to meet with other new mothers at the Family Birthing Center every week for the first months of life.
You will receive information on the adjustment to parenthood, baby care, breastfeeding challenges, moving back into the workforce and much more.
The group meets every Tuesday from 10-11 am at Manchester Memorial Hospital. The program is free, and registration is not required. All new mothers are welcome to come to this program, even if they have delivered elsewhere. For more information, call 860.647.4790
