ECHN's Adult Volunteer Program

If you have never volunteered before, you cannot imagine the personal satisfaction. If you have volunteered before, you know the difference volunteering makes in your life and in the lives of the patients and their families.

Volunteers come from many different backgrounds. For example, volunteers can be college students, people interested in career changes, retirees, people who are between jobs and want to keep their skill levels high, homemakers and teenagers.

We would be happy to show you how you can make a difference in someone's life. Our orientation program and specialized training within the departments will teach you the skills you need to work within the hospital setting.

Some volunteer positions involve work with patients. Others allow you the chance to work with employees and fellow volunteers. We have a variety of opportunities for you to use your skills, learn new ones, and socialize with great people.

Each year, hundreds of dedicated adult and junior volunteers give thousands of hours of service to Eastern Connecticut Health Network. Training is provided for all volunteer positions.

Junior Volunteer Program

ECHN's Summer 2010 Junior Volunteer Program runs from July 5th through August 27th. Interviews will begin in May. Orientation is scheduled for June 30th. Programs include working in our lobbies greeting and directing patients and visitors, office work, working on our coffee bar and assisting the nursing and clinical staffs.
We will do our best to place as many junior volunteers as possible—space is limited.

All Junior Volunteers need to have a parent or guardian's consent as well as a school reference to volunteer. Please complete the below two forms and bring them to the interview. Please note: these are Microsoft Word documents.
