The Inpatient Program is a 25-bed adult unit and a 6-10 bed adolescent unit that provides high quality inpatient services to individuals with any psychiatric disorder including:
- Major depression
- Bipolar disorder
- Anxiety disorders
- Postpartum psychosis
- As well as those with dual diagnosis of substance abuse and psychiatric illness.
The units are locked and secure allowing the admission of individuals on a voluntary basis, as well as those requiring commitment for treatment. The unit is organized in a multi-disciplinary fashion with psychiatrists, social workers, occupational therapists, and an around the clock complement of psychiatric nurses and psychiatric technicians. The mental health team works effectively to restore patients to the highest level of functioning, as quickly as possible, so that they can continue to receive treatment in the least restrictive environment possible.
The inpatient Behavioral Health Programs at ECHN address a broad range of psychiatric illnesses including depression, anxiety, bipolar, mood, psychotic and co-occurring disorders. Multi-disciplinary teams on both the adult and adolescent units respond to each patient’s situation with a commitment to providing comprehensive and individualized care. Treatment may include psychopharmacology, individual, family and group therapy and referrals for rehabilitative care.
