We Must Never Forget!

The Town of Manchester's Veterans Day celebration will be held on Thursday, November 11. The Veterans Day parade will step off from the American Legion Hall on Legion Drive at approximately 10:45 a.m. and will progress to the front lawn of Manchester Memorial Hospital (MMH), arriving approximately 11 a.m.

The community is invited to attend the celebration, which will include distinguished guests, the lowering of colors by the Color Guards (American Legion Post #102, Disabled American Veterans Chapter #17, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2046, and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #120) and the placing of wreaths at the Memorial Stone in front of the hospital. Rabbi Richard Plavin will give the opening prayer. Patriotic songs will be sung by members of Summit Studios in Manchester. Light refreshments will be served in the hospital's conference rooms following the ceremony.

MMH was established in 1919 as the town's official memorial to its soldiers who lost their lives in World War I and to all its veterans who served in the war. In 1970, the hospital was rededicated to the memory of the veterans of all wars.
