Walkways To the Rockville General Hospital’s Maxwell Mansion Entrance Closed To Foot Traffic For Public Safety Reasons

May 25, 2012 -  (MANCHESTER, CONN.)  Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN) announced today that until the worn and broken walkways to Rockville General Hospital’s Maxwell Mansion entrance are removed and replaced, the hospital’s front entrance area is now closed to foot traffic for public safety reasons. The Mansion has not been the main entrance to the hospital since 2004 when a new main entryway and Visitors’ Parking lot (right off Union Street) were constructed following the expansion of the hospital’s Emergency Department. However, some visitors and patients have continued to enter the hospital through the Mansion. Because your safety is important to us, we ask that you park in the Visitors’ Parking lot and not on the street or in the Emergency Department lot unless your visit is an emergency.
