MANCHESTER, CONNECTICUT - The ECHN Community Healthcare Foundation has teamed up with 2 Fly Wines, founded by Chris and Carolyn Didden of Glastonbury, to raise funds for the ECHN Breast Care Collaborative. For this occasion, 2 Fly Wines will donate $1 for every two bottles of its 2010 Pertaringa Moscato Wines sold.
After only one month of this promotion, which began in September and will continue through October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, 2 Fly made their first contribution of $316.
The bottle is easily identified as it is the only bottle of the Moscato family to carry the pink label in support of breast cancer awareness. Its retail price ranges from $17.99-$19.99. Moscato is fresh and fruity with a gentle fizz. It can be served as an aperitif with smoked or cured meats or simply bellissimo with desserts. It's perfect for a lazy lunch with family and friends!
Tucked away in the eastern foothills of McLaren Vale in South Australia, Pertaringa is a progressive family-owned winery and cellar focusing on crafting superb wines. The name Pertaringa means 'belonging to the hills' and originates from the local Kaurna indigenous language. Its wines are sold at 2 Fly Wines, which is a boutique importer and distributor of these premium wines located in East Hartford, Conn.
The proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the ECHN Breast Care Collaborative, which delivers seamless, integrated care to patients from initial breast imaging to diagnosis, surgical consults, surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and support groups. The Collaborative has a team of specialists with expertise in the treatment of breast cancer, including radiologists, radiation and medical oncologists, dedicated and certified breast surgeons, social workers, genetic counselors, dietitians, and the personalized services of the Breast Care Coordinator.
(L-R) Stan Kontogiannis, Corporate & Foundation Relations Officer of ECHN, Kathy Porter, ECHN Breast Care Coordinator, and Nina Kruse, Director of Development, are presented with a check by David Roth, Northeast Sales Manager, and Chris Didden, Founder and owner of 2Fly Wines. These funds, which are a portion of the proceeds from the sale of 2010 Moscato wine (with a special pink label), were collected over the past six months to benefit the ECHN Breast Care Collaborative's comprehensive services.
