Manchester Memorial Hospital Coffee Cart Volunteers Present ECHN with One Year’s Proceeds

May 18, 2009 -

The Coffee Cart volunteers at Manchester Memorial Hospital presented Rosemarie Papa, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Eastern Connecticut Health Network (at far right in the photo), with a check in the amount of $56,410 at a luncheon held by ECHN to honor its volunteers for their tireless service to the health system on April 23 at Maneeley's in South Windsor. The donation represents one year's proceeds from the Coffee Cart located in the lobby of the hospital. These funds continue to support staff and programs that benefit cancer patients.

This year's contribution will support oncology education for nurses at Manchester Memorial; the Annual Cancer Survivors Day Celebration of Life program; the purchase of an ultrasound scanning table and daVinci instruments; the Women's Health Coordinator position at ECHN; take-home bags for breast surgical patients; and the Case Manager position for the Connecticut Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program.
