Common Foot Problems, podiatrist Donna Boccelli, DPM, will present an overview of various types of foot problems, such as bunions, neuromas and hallux rigidus (limited motion of the big toe joint), as well as the new surgical technique for hammertoes on Wednesday, September 19, 5-6 p.m., at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Oral Health & Its Impact on Your Body, oral and maxillofacial surgeons Joel L. Nothing to Fear: The Truth About Colonoscopy Prep & Procedure, join ECHN’s Hospitalists (healthcare professionals who specialized in the care of hospitalized patients) Cynthia Grindle, APRN, and Gwenn Drapeau, APRN, as they explain what to expect before, during and after a colonoscopy on Tuesday, October 2, 6-7:30 p.m., at the Indian Valley Family YMCA, Ellington. Free Prostate Screening, on Tuesday, October 9, 3-7 p.m., at Rockville General Hospital. This screening by board-certified urologists is for men 40-75 years of age who have not seen a doctor for prostate health within the past 12 months. Uninsured and under-insured are encouraged to attend. Men who qualify will need to have a free PSA test done before the screening at any ECHN laboratory patient service center. Free transportation is available.

Problem Gambling & the Family, on Wednesday, October 10, 6-7:30 p.m., ECHN Medical Building, 150 North Main St., Manchester, join National certified Gambling Counselor Mary Lou Costanzo, LCSW, as she discusses recovery, self-care, and resources for problem gamblers and their family members. ECHN Behavioral Health staff who have been trained to assist problem gamblers and family members will be available to answer questions. The program is free but registration is required.
