Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN) held its 14th annual Salute! An Evening of Fine Wines and Gourmet Cuisine fundraiser on September 9 at Cavey’s Restaurant in Manchester. The event raised more than $41,000, which will help offset the cost of the new digital mammography unit at ECHN’s Women’s Center for Wellness, located in South Windsor, Connecticut.
The Women’s Center for Wellness offers an array of health and wellness services, including digital mammography; bone density scans; a print and video resource library filled with books, brochures, and videotapes on many aspects of women’s health; and the services of a Breast Health Navigator, a nurse dedicated to guiding women through the healthcare system with support and education.
The Center also promotes health and well-being through health services and programs that focus on the total person – mind and body. We offer nutritional counseling and yoga classes (slated to begin October 2012), as well as several integrative medicine services that include therapeutic massage, acupuncture and Reiki.
The evening consisted of tastings of fine wines and champagne, as well as an assortment of gourmet tapas created by Cavey’s, featuring three different regions of Italy, and live and silent auctions. Live music was provided by Pianist Jason Castonguay.
The event was made possible through the generosity of our corporate and individual partners. We extend our appreciation to our Presenting Sponsor, Robinson & Cole, LLP; Registration Sponsors, Ambulance Service of Manchester and American Eagle Federal Credit Union; and Silent Auction Sponsors, Manchester OB-GYN Associates and Raintech Sound & Communications, Inc. We also thank all of the individuals and organizations who supported the event with donations of wine, auction items and additional financial contributions.
ECHN holds many annual events throughout the year and partners with corporations for maximum marketing opportunities. For information on how to be a part of future ECHN Community Healthcare Foundation events, please call Richard Silvia at 860.872.5305.
