Resident Salary 
Manchester Memorial Hospital offers competitive salaries and benefits:

First Year - $54,000
Second Year - $56,000
Third Year - $58,000
Flexible Spending Accounts 
Flexible Spending Accounts permit the use of pre-tax income for selected expenses related to health insurance, dental insurance and dependant day care. 

Paid Leave

Personal Days, Sick Leave and CME Days                 
Residents and Interns receive paid time away for vacation, sick leave and continuing medical education.  Trainees will receive a bank of 20 days on July 1st for these purposes.  Time unused does not carry over.
Leave of Absences
Residents may arrange leaves of absence for maternity and medical leaves. Leaves of absence must be arranged in collaboration with the program coordinator and Human Resources.

Professional Development

Educational Expenses
$500 will be provided each year to residents and interns to attend conferences; purchase medical books, journals and educational software; pay for continuing medical education classes and reimburse residents for other pre-approved professional development expenses.
Continuing Medical Education                      
Free Category 2 AOA CME is offered on Thursdays at Manchester Memorial Hospital.
Life Support Courses
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • ACLS re-certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)


Meals Residents receive a 10% discount on meals at Manchester Memorial Hospital. 
Telecommunication Devices
Cell phones and pagers are provided for the entire year at no cost to residents and interns.
Scrubs and White Coats Scrubs are provided to residents and interns free of charge.

Each resident and intern receives 3 white coats free of charge.

Free laundering services are provided for scrubs and white coats.
