Visitor Information

Visiting Hours

We believe that spending time with loved ones is a powerful part of the healing process. Our hospital policies are designed to provide a safe and restful environment for our patients, so our visitation policy is based on their individual needs. While we encourage and support visitation, please keep the following guidelines in mind during your visit at Manchester Memorial Hospital:
  • Children are welcome for short visits as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Most of our patient rooms are semi-private. Please remember to be considerate of the other patient in the room and all patients on the unit. We ask that you keep your voices low while visiting and try to limit the number of visitors to two at a time. Although we respect cultural customs and try to accommodate family wishes, our focus is on the care of our patients. There may be times when a member of our care team, using best clinical judgment, determines that it is in the best interest of a patient or patients to limit or restrict the presence of visitors and/or care partner/support persons.
  • If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms or have an illness that may be considered contagious, we ask that you visit at another time in the best interest of all of our patients.
  • If there is an “isolation” sign on the door of the patient you plan to visit, please see the nurse for an explanation of how to enter and leave the room. This would include how to wear and dispose of protective apparel and the importance of hand washing.
Your visit may be interrupted from time to time so that we may provide patient care to your loved one or to the other patient in the room. We appreciate your understanding and support during these times, and we encourage you to either wait in the waiting area or return later in the day.
Some areas of our hospital have specific hours for visitation. Please see below.

Behavioral Health-Adolescent Unit:

Monday-Friday, 5-7 p.m.; weekends and holidays, 2-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m.

Behavioral Health-Adult Unit:

Monday-Friday, 6-8 p.m.; weekends and holidays, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

Visitor Restrictions

Please note that our hospital will often set very strict standards for visitation during the flu season. For example, we may restrict children and adults who have not received a flu shot from coming into the hospital to protect our patients and those who care for them.

Emergency Instructions

If an alarm should sound while you are in the hospital, or a “Code Red” overhead page is announced, please stay where you are until you are directed otherwise, or until you hear an “all clear” announcement. Do not pass through any closed doors or use any elevators.
