Medical technology is expanding at a rapid rate, providing innovations and improvements that are needed to provide the most advanced services to our patients. Donations for capital technology needs are always greatly appreciated.

Manchester Memorial Hospital was the first hospital in eastern Connecticut to introduce the daVinci S HD (High Definition) Surgical System, a minimally invasive surgical system. In November 2012, ECHN announced the acquisition of the next generation in robotic surgery - the daVinci Si Surgical System, with unique features designed to provide additional clinical benefits and efficiency in the operating room, which then translate to benefits for the patients. With this system, minimally invasive surgical procedures can be performed from a single incision in the belly button. The Si offers enhanced 3D, high-definition vision, new ergonomic settings for greater surgeon comfort, and other advantages over the original system. This version of the daVinci also includes Firefly technology, which is an integrated fluorescence imaging capability that provides surgeons real-time, image-guided identification of key anatomical landmarks using near-infrared technology. This system places Manchester Memorial Hospital in a very elite group of hospitals nationwide with this capability. Our patients have access to the very latest in high-tech medical services - with the personal touch of our community-based hospital.

Technology such as this is made possible by generous individuals and businesses in our community who support our non-profit health system with charitable donations. Gifts of any amount are welcome and appreciated.
