BACH Breakfast Meeting - May 17, 2013
Two respected speakers on the topic of the Health Insurance Exchange made their presentations to about 40 BACH members and guests on May 17. Arnold Menchel, Chair of Halloran & Sage's healthcare department, presented the Impact of the Affordable Care Act on Employers. Virginia Lamb, General Counsel for Access Health CT, our state's agency charged with implementing the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) here in Connecticut, presented Healthy Chat for Small Businesses. Dr. Dennis O'Neill, Chairman of the ECHN Board of Trustees, also gave an update on the search for a partner to facilitate ECHN's future well-being. The recruiting plaque was presented to Patient Advocate for You's Sharon Gauthier for introducing the most new BACH members in the last quarter. Two new members received their company plaques, as well.  Networking preceded and followed the breakfast meeting.

BACH Breakfast Meeting - February 22, 2013
U. S. Representative Joe Courtney presented information on healthcare reform and the impending "sequester" to a large group of BACH members and guests. He also presented ECHN Pres & CEO Peter Karl with a proclamation praising the mission and efforts of BACH, resulting in over $1 million in donations to ECHN since 2009 from BACH member companies. New members were also welcomed and presented with their plaques or certificates. A Q&A session with the Congressman was followed by breakfast and networking. 

BACH Breakfast Meeting - November 29, 2012
Peter Gioia, VP & Economist with the CT Business & Industry Association informed and entertained the audience of BACH members and guests on the topic "An Update on the Connecticut and National Economies and the Impact of the Elections." The morning began with coffee and networking, followed by the presentation of new members and an opportunity for members to announce news from their companies. Mr. Gioia is well-known in business circles and was well-received and happy to field all questions.

BACH Breakfast Meeting - September 7, 2012
The regular August BACH meeting was postponed to September to enable Eric Thompson, principal with Blue Back LLC, to speak to the BACH members and guests on "Health Care Reform: Public Secrets Revealed." Mr. Thompson gave a detailed explanation of how the new healthcare reform law will affect local businesses and how they can prepare for the changes that are coming.
His talk was preceded by networking and a presentation by Kathleen Walsh of the Eastern CT Cancer Institute at the DeQuattro Cancer Center. She was given the opportunity to share with the BACH members services available at the Cancer Center.
